Wrinkle Prevention & Wrinkle Removal Techniques

Do you remember when you were a kid and making ugly or funny faces was a game? Do you remember the adults in your world telling you to quit doing that or your face will freeze?

Actually, the adults probably didn’t really know it but there was a grain of truth in the statement. Our facial expressions do have some effect on the formation of wrinkles.

When you make facial expressions, muscles are contracted and relaxed. That’s what effects facial expression. When you frown, your mouth turns down. When you worry, you draw your eye brows together.

When you think, you wrinkle your forehead. When you laugh, your mouth turns upward. When you are exposed to sudden bright light you squint. However, there really isn’t much we can do about the wrinkles that are caused by repeated facial expressions.

There are some things that we can do even from a very early age to, if not prevent, at least delay

wrinkling.

*Use a sun block that is at the very minimum SPF15. SPF is an acronym for Sun Protection Factor. For any extended sunlight exposure you need skin protection.

*Wear sunglasses when you are outside particularly on very bright days. This will help to prevent squinting and squinting cases crows feet (wrinkles around the eyes).

*Do not go to tanning salons. The rays emitted by the lamps in tanning salons are the same those of natural sunlight; or at least nearly so; and they can damage your skin and cause wrinkles.

*Do not smoke. Smoking causes wrinkles.

*Drink a lot of fluid; preferably water. There are no calories, preservatives or artificial flavors in just plain water. Staying well hydrated helps to prevent premature wrinkling.

*Use skin moisturizing creams. There are many that are sold commercially. The price has no bearing on the benefits provided. You can even make your own moisturizers from products that you already have in your kitchen.

WRINKLE REMOVAL TECHNIQUES:

Wrinkles! They are a plague! We dont want those things on our faces; they make us look OLD. Have you ever done the backside test? Examine the skin on your posterior and note how smooth and wrinkle free it is. That is the same way the skin on your face would look without those darn wrinkles.

The skin on your backside has never been exposed to the elements (sunlight) and the underlying muscles are not used constantly like the muscles in your face. We begin using the muscles in our face at birth.

When babies cry they are using facial muscles. Repeated contraction and relaxation of muscles when we make facial expressions is one of the causes of wrinkles, as are, exposure to sunlight and just plain old garden variety aging.

There are a variety of skin rejuvenation medical techniques that can help erase years from the face. One such technique is chemical peeling. There are several different acetic solutions that a dermatologist has at his disposal. He will use the one that is indicated by the depth of the wrinkles.

Another technique used to make wrinkles appear less severe is dermabrasion. This technique is, in effect, the sanding of the skin much in the same way that a board is sanded smooth by rubbing it with sandpaper.

Lasers are used now to help resurface the skin and alleviate wrinkles. Lasers have been found to be a very useful tool for many medical procedures and the removal of wrinkles is one of them. Using various fillers by injecting them into the offending wrinkle is yet another method of wrinkle removal.

Face lifts, brow lifts, neck lifts and other plastic surgery techniques for lifting the face and removing wrinkles has been around for many years. None of these procedures are a permanent fix for wrinkles but all of them can help to make wrinkles less noticeable and postpone the inevitable effects of aging on our faces.
